Lukman: Tinubu’s Actions Suggest a One-Term Presidency

Salihu Lukman, former APC National Vice Chairman (North-west), has interpreted the recent removal of Senator Ali Ndume as Senate Chief Whip and his expulsion from the party as signs that President Bola Tinubu plans to serve only one term.

Ndume was replaced by Senator Tahir Monguno following directives from APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje and National Secretary Senator Basiru Ajibola, citing Ndume’s alleged outbursts against the president.

Salihu expressed concern over the suppression of free speech, comparing the current climate to the Abacha era. He criticized the lack of guaranteed personal liberties and fair hearings, and denounced the unilateral decision-making within the APC, which he believes undermines democracy and the independence of the National Assembly.

Salihu warned that such actions by Tinubu’s government indicate a self-destructive path, suggesting that patriotic Nigerians must work towards ensuring their defeat in 2027.
