Bashir Abubakar Released from DSS
The young graphics designer from Kano who was arrested by the Department of State Security for printingT-shirts for the proposed Nationwide protest has been released.
This development was made known by Omoyele Sowore via his facebook page.
He wrote:
“The team of lawyers sent to the @OfficialDSSNG today secured the release of Bashir Abubakar from the DSS dungeon; Bashir was the youth activist from Kano who was accused of producing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria T-shirts in Kano.
The lawless @OfficialDSSNG insists that he relinquish the remainder of his merchandise to them, but we’ve instructed our lawyers to resist that move; if the @OfficialDSSNG wants the t-shirts, they must pay the prevailing market price.
They will not be allowed to Confiscate Bashir’s merchandise after unlawfully brutalizing him.
Meanwhile, we have dispatched lawyers to Kano prison to commence proceedings to free a second victim of the @OfficialDSSNG, Kano-based TikToker, Junaidu Abdullahi who was remanded in prison for disseminating information about #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria #DaysOfRage #Revolutionnow”
