Successful Police Recruits to Begin Training on Saturday
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced that candidates who successfully completed the 2022 Police recruitment exercise are scheduled to begin their training on Saturday, August 10th, 2024. The training will take place at various Police Colleges across the country and is expected to run until August 20th.
In a statement released by Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations, the PSC confirmed that only candidates who have verified their status through the Police Recruitment Portal at https://apply.policerecruitment.gov.ng will be admitted for training. The names of these candidates have already been forwarded to the management of the respective Police Colleges, and only those listed will be allowed entry.
The PSC also clarified that the previously used portal, www.policeservicecommission.cloud, has been discontinued following discussions with the Police Management. It was agreed that the portal used at the start of the recruitment process would be maintained to ensure fairness and transparency.
Only candidates whose names appear on the official portal or who have received direct invitations to report at the Colleges will be permitted to participate in the training as police recruits. Currently, messages are being sent out to successful candidates, including specialists, who are required to report between September 28th and October 10th, 2024.
PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd.), emphasized that candidates must adhere strictly to the reporting dates provided. The Commission will continue to monitor the progress of all trainees to ensure they are adequately prepared to serve the nation and combat issues such as banditry and terrorism.
